چکیده

docrine systems, which have been considered as separate “systems” can be considered components of a single integrated defence mechanism in which the interactions between systems is as important to understanding adaptation as the interaction within a system (Ader, Cohen and Felten, 1995). The study of the response of this single integrated defense mechanism of the organism when it is exposed to an old stimulus such as the mechanical energy, could be a method to learn the interactions that exist between these three systems (Lorente et al., 1995). Acute mechanical trauma can produce different conditions in the human being, acute local inflammation and the polytraumatized patient respectively representing its least and greatest severity. The evolution of both conditions can be explained by the successive alterations which are produced in the blood vascular endothelium and, by extension, in the vascular wall (Lorente et al., 1995). The endothelium, owing to its strategic position, plays an exceedingly important role in regulating the vascular system by integrating diverse mechanical and biochemical signals and by responding to them through the release of vasoactive subsPsicothema, 1996. Physiological and Pathological Roles for MicroRNAs: Implications for Immunity Complications

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding regulatory RNAs molecules with a size of approximately 22 nucleotides that are implicated in regulating gene expression at the post-transcriptional regulatory levels. Inflammatory disorders especially autoimmune diseases (ADs) occur from an abnormal immune response of body against cells of their own specific tissues or multiple organ systems leading to ch...

Beyond the borders: the gates and fences of neuroimmune interaction

Historically, in most organisms the nervous, immune, and the endocrine systems have been studied as independent components. However, during the last decades, growing evidence supports the notion that these are three parts of a unique system, the neuro-immune-endocrine system (Besedosky and Rey, 2007). Both clinical observations and experimental data obtained from animals reveal a close relation...

O-25: The Effect of Environmental Contaminants Endocrine-Disrupting PBBs and PBDEs on Reproduction and Fertility Outcomes

Background: Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs) and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs) are semi-permanent Halogenated compounds that are mainly used in flame retardant. These contaminants as endocrinedisrupting associated with dysfunction of immune, endocrine and nervous systems. Influence various physiological processes such as menarche, birth weight, fetus growth and development, head circumf...

Intrauterine programming

In mammals, the intrauterine condition has an important role in the development of fetal physiological systems in later life. Suboptimal maternal environment can alter the regulatory pathways that determine the normal development of the fetus in utero, which in post-natal life may render the individual more susceptible to cardiovascular or metabolic adult-life diseases. Changes in the intrauter...

مروری بر تأثیر اضطراب و افسردگی بر بیماری‌های پریودنتال: مقاله مروری

Background and Aims: Periodontitis does not affect on all patients by the same way. There are some risk factors in some people that make them more sensitive to progress of periodontitis. Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, and special pathogens increase the risk of periodontitis. Other factors such as stress, depression and anxiety, are not crucial risk factors for periodontitis yet. Biologic expla...
